Typically overseeding is down in the Fall after you’ve Aerated your turf. Overseeding at this time is done because you want to get those seeds in before Wither and Spring so your seeds have their chance to get set in before dormancy affects your turf.

Should I fertilize my lawn after I overseed?

Just like with aeration, overseeding creates a perfect environment for lawn fertilization. The new seeds in the soil of your lawn need fertilizer to get get the nutrients they need to grow strong and healthy. If you don’t want to fertilize your lawn regularly throughout the year, it is a good idea to fertilize it in the Spring or Fall when you get your lawn overseeded.

Overseeding for an aeration is a much lighter distrabution rate than when overseeding for new lawn.
